Breakfast and Lunch Opportunities for VVSA Students
Parents/Guardians may apply for free/reduced lunch for virtual school students.
The application may be found here. You may complete and submit the paperwork online. Should you qualify for free status, your student may eat breakfast and lunch at no charge. For our reduced payment students, the cost of breakfast is $0.30 and lunch is $0.40. Our full-priced student breakfast is $1.35 and lunch is $2.95.
This is an additional service provided to your virtual school student through the Vigo County School Corporation. Booker T. Washington will provide breakfast and lunch for our VVSA students should they need it . Breakfast will be served from 8:20 a.m. to 8:35 a.m. Lunch will be served from 12:30 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Please notify the office should your student plan to come in for breakfast or lunch any day. Due to COVID-19, enrollment is closed for Vigo Virtual Success Academy.
Vigo Virtual Success Academy offers over 280 semesters of virtual courses available to all students in grades 9-12, supported by lab and testing space, as well as a principal, school counselor, and social services at Booker T. Washington High School.
Full-time eligibility for Vigo Virtual Success Academy is open for students who are:
- Currently homeschooled
- Homebound
- In need of credit recovery
- In need of flexible scheduling due to a documented medical/emotional reason
- In need of alternative education due to disciplinary hearings or other reasons
Part-time eligibility for Vigo County School Corporation students is available, and students may earn up to eight credits during a trimester in our credit recovery program using Courseware.
Vigo Virtual Success Academy offerings will include:

- Elective courses
- AP courses
- Global Language courses
- Career and Technical Education courses
Frequently Asked Questions
I hear a lot about Indiana virtual schools in the news. How is VVSA different?
VVSA is a stand-alone public virtual school operated by Vigo County School Corporation. The virtual schools having problems in the news are charter schools and subject to different rules. VVSA will take attendance and maintain an accurate student count. We are also not enrolling non-Vigo County students—this is simply offered as a choice to help Vigo County students fulfill their educational needs.
How can we trust that a new school will be academically appropriate?
We’ve partnered with EdOptions Academy, a virtual school operator trusted by over 400 schools and districts. They support over 15,000 students nationwide.
Does that mean there won’t be local resources?
Absolutely not. We have a local, dedicated principal. Mrs. Robin Smith has 11 years of administrative experience, formerly as principal at Terre Haute North. Students will have access to a dedicated school counselor and social services. Students will be tested and use lab space at Booker T. Washington High School. Again, this is a local option to serve all of Vigo County students’ needs.
