Indiana High School Equivalency Information
As of January 2014, Indiana will no longer be administering the GED, but will instead use a different exam for its High School Equivalency Diploma. Previous GED scores will not transfer to the new exam. Learn more.

The Vigo County School Corporation offers the new Indiana High School Equivalency Exam. The new HSE is called the TASC or Test Assessing Secondary Completion. Indiana residents 18 years and older can register for the HSE Exam. 16 & 17 year olds can take the HSE Exam with the signature of the superintendent.
Register in person at the Adult Education office at McLean High School with 2 forms of identification. One of the IDs must be a government-issued picture ID. Cost for the exam is $115 and must be paid at registration. Payment can be made by cash, check or money order made out to: Vigo County School Corporation. A spot for the exam is not secured until you register and make your payment. Registration is on on a first come, first served basis. See the exam schedule.
Adult Basic Education
The Vigo County School Corporation offers FREE classes to help you develop your skills in Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies and Science in order to prepare for the High School Equivalency test. To attend classes, you must be at least 16 years old and not be enrolled in regular school. Potential students must also attend an orientation before going to class. Request your Transcripts
It is important to keep track of your records. New testers will receive one copy of their transcript and diploma at no cost. The Vigo County School Corporation will not be able to provide duplicate records. All records requests must go through Diploma Sender. This includes duplicate transcripts and diplomas as well as employment verification forms. There is a fee for the service.
