Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,

This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with your Scottie Burst for the week of September 10th.  Can you believe that last Friday marked the midterm for this semester?  It did!  But there is so much yet to do, so let’s start with your announcements for this week.

Stay informed of your Scotties academic progress by checking Skyward.  If you want to know if work his/her work is being turned in, test scores, quizzes, and more, that information is available to you.  Go to skyward.vigoschools.org and login with your username and password. Then click gradebook on the left. You can get the username and password from the main office if don’t have it.

Our cross country team has been doing a great job.  They will be looking for a victory, Monday, as they head to Deming Park for their race against Woodrow Wilson Middle School.  Our runners would love to see you cheering from the sidelines.  Again, this race will take place at Deming Park.

Tuesday, all of our athletes will have their team pictures taken.  Athletes received a picture form, from Mr. Burress, which parent should have received.  Parents, you should have received a reminder email with a copy of the order form.

Also, on Tuesday, our boys’ tennis team will match their skills against the Woodrow Wilson Warriors.  This match will take place at Sarah Scott Middle School.

Wednesday, the cross country team will be traveling to Marshall, Illinois, to bring home a victory against Marshall Junior High School.  Let’s cheer our runners on, as they strap on their running shoes and give their best effort!

Thursday, our boy’s tennis team has the home court advantage, as they take to the courts against Otter Creek Middle School.  Cheer our boys on in this match against the Otter Creek Otters!

Also, on Thursday, Sarah Scott’s girl’s JV and Varsity volleyball teams will be ready for their match against Otter Creek Middle School.  Our girls have the home court advantage.  We’d love to have you join us in the stands, in the cheering section!

There will be a Pop Up Health Clinic at Ryves Youth Center on September 27. The screenings will include primarily glucose and blood pressure. An attending physician and resident physicians will be available for exams, to write prescriptions or make referrals for additional care and treatment.

We hope that you are sharing out on your social media that Sarah Scott will have a food distribution tomorrow from 9 to 10. Our food distribution is a partnership with Catholic Charities to provide a food box for anyone in need.  Please share this information with everyone you know.  All you have to do is to come to Sarah Scott between 9 and 10.  Our Scotties will have your food box prepared, when you pull up.

Family, did you know that Sarah Scott has a food pantry?  We do!  We’ve had it for more than eight years.  My vision for the food pantry was to help meet the needs of our Scotties.  Understanding that families go through difficult times, our pantry is here to help.  If you need a food box, go to the Sarah Scott website and complete the request form.  It’s as simple as that.

We’re working hard to support our families, “At Sarah Scott:  Where Hope is Inspired, Talent is Trained, and Potential is Developed!”
