Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,

This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with your Scottie Burst for the week of September 3rd.  I hope you’re enjoying a wonderful Labor Day.  We will look forward to our Scotties returning to school, bright and early tomorrow morning.  We have quite a few announcements, so let’s get started.

Congratulations to the Sarah Scott cross country team.  They competed, on Saturday, in the Terre Haute Savings Bank Invitational.  Congratulations to our boys team, which earned 2nd place overall.  Congratulations to Hayden Lugar, who earned 1st place overall in the Boys Open race.  We’re proud of Mariah Sandifer, who came in 2nd place overall in the Girls Open race.  Go Scotties!

Tuesday, our girls’ volleyball teams will match their skills against West Vigo Middle School.  Join us in the stands, at Sarah Scott, as our JV and Varsity teams look for a victory.

Tuesday, our boys’ tennis team will compete against St. Pat’s Middle School.  Join us on the Sarah Scott courts for this matchup.

Wednesday, join us at Fairbanks Park, to cheer on our cross country team, as they race against St. Pat’s Middle School.

Thursday, our girls volleyball teams will take to the courts, at Sarah Scott, for their match against Honey Creek Middle School.  Be a part of the cheering section, as we cheer our girls on to victory.

Thursday, our boys’ tennis team will match their skills against Otter Creek Middle School.  This match will take place at Otter Creek.

All athletic events begin at 5:00.

Have you checked your Scotties Skyward account?  Did you know that you can check to see your Scotties grades in every class?  You can also see if your Scottie has any missing assignments.  I encourage you to stay informed of your students’ progress.

Parents, we need your help.  VCSC has a dress code policy which does not allow our young men to “sag” their pants.  Young ladies are not allowed to wear clothing that exposes their mid-section, or shorts that are too short.  Please review the dress code policy with your Scotties, so that we don’t have any dress code violations.

Mark your calendars for next Monday, September 11th.  Sarah Scott, in partnership with Catholic Charities will have our food distribution.  If you, or someone you know, could use a food box, be at Sarah Scott between 9 and 10.  If you’re on social media, please help us spread the word.  Everyone is welcome.

Let’s make this week a GREAT week, “At Sarah Scott:  Where Hope is Inspired, Talent is Trained, and Potential is Developed!”
