Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,

This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with this week’s Scottie Burst.

Congratulations to our AMAZING  Scotties who traveled to DePauw University, today, to compete in the Regional Science Fair!  Our award-winning Scotties received the following Special honors:

Naval Science Award- Adrianna Marren

N. Maxine and David W. Ford STEM Award-Ana Morris and Callie White

US Air Force -Outstanding Science or Engineering Fair Project-Hayden Lugar

 

2nd-Place Awards were given to Hayden Lugar, Ana Morris and Callie White

3rd Place awards were presented to -Gionna Clanton, Drue Smith, Adrianna Marren, Sophia Branneman, and Venessa Burton

 

Scotties, we are so very proud of you!

To our great parents, we are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow morning for Meaningful Monday.  We’ve got Miss Campbell-Miller’s  hot chocolate recipe, a Danish and copy of the school’s newsletter for you.

7th and 8th grade girls track practice will begin on Monday.  7th and 8th grade boys track has already begun.  All Scotties must have a completed physical form on file, in order to participate.

The competition is heating up between our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Scotties to see which grade level will win the big prize, which is a private showing of “Ant Man and the Wasp!  Our Scotties are competing to see which grade level can complete the most ALEKS math topics.  Each student has to complete at least 60 math topics to qualify.  But the grade level with the most ALEKS math topics will win!  Scotties have until March 21st to get their topics completed.  On March 23, the winners will be heading to the AMC theater for their private showing of Ant Man and The Wasp.  Scotties, on the winning team, with 90 topics will receive a snack pack. The second place grade level will receive  an ice cream social and open gym. Our third place grade level will receive open gym.  Good luck!  Get busy completing those ALEKS topics and help your grade level win!

Scotties will have early release on Friday.  Students will be dismissed at 2:30.

On Friday, we will be having a mixer.  Scotties can pay $5.00 to join the fun, immediately after school.  There will be music in the cafeteria, open gym, and the concession will be selling snacks.  Scotties can purchase their tickets for the dance, during their lunch periods, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  The mixer will be held from 2:30 to 4:30.

Please help us spread the word that Sarah Scott’s food distribution, in partnership with Catholic Charities will be next Monday, March 13th from 9:00 to 10:00.  The food distribution is open to everyone.  Please share this information on your social media.

Mark your calendars for the Sarah Scott Fish Fry on March 17th.   We are excited to invite the community in for some great catfish and all the sides!  We’ll have raffles, a silent auction and a bake sale.  Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $8.00 for children under 10 years of age.  Please help us spread the word.  We’re hoping for a big turnout and you can help us by telling all your friends, coworkers and family.
