Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,

This is Scotia Brown, thankful to serve you as your principal.  We had a great week last week.

Our track teams and our girl’s tennis teams got their season off to a great start.  We hope that more of you will come out to support our teams.

ILEARN testing begins on Monday.  We need your help with some things:  1.)  Make sure your Scottie get a good night’s sleep, 2) If there is no time to eat breakfast a home, breakfast is available in cafeteria each morning, beginning at 7:30, and  3) It is important that your Scottie be at school by 8:05 every day.

Scotties, Remember to charge your Chromebook!

Monday, our 6th grade track team will compete against Otter Creek Middle School.  This event will take place at Sarah Scott.

Also, on Monday, our 7th and 8th grade track teams will compete at Otter Creek.

Tuesday, our girl’s tennis team will travel to Woodrow Wilson for their tennis match against Wilson.

Thursday, our girl’s tennis team will host a match against St. Pats.  This is a home event.

On Friday, Scotties will receive their mid-term grades.  You will be able to access grades through Skyward.  If you see that your Scottie is struggling in any of their classes, we encourage you to have your Scottie take advantage of the before school tutoring that takes place each morning.  We also have on—line help in math, with Miss Walker.  Help is available.

Has your Scottie shared with you that they can win prizes for completing Reading Counts quizzes and completing ALEKS math topics?  Yes, they can. All they have to do is to complete the math topics and claim their tickets.  Or, read a book, pass the quiz and claim their tickets.  The prizes include, headphones, LED light strips, flat screen televisions, etc.  Sound too good to be true.  Well, it is true.  Encourage your Scottie to get busy with ALEKS and Reading Counts.

Family,  the school corporation needs to hear your thought on what you would like to see happen with the building of our high schools.  This decision directly impacts your students.  We encourage you to attend the community meetings and let your concerns be heard.  The dates for the community meetings can be found  on the VCSC website.
