Every year, the Indiana Association of School Principals sponsors an essay contest to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Students were asked to write up to 500 words about this quote from Dr. King: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction.” Four students from Mrs. Schorr’s classes entered this contest and received certificates of participation.
