Scottie Burst Jan. 19, 2025
Hello Sarah Scott Families,
A reminder, no school tomorrow in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There is a celebration at the Vigo County Historical Center from 12-6pm and a program beginning at 6.
With the inclement weather, please refer to the VCSC guidelines for E-Learning days.
Parent eLearning Information Students need to bring home their chromebooks every evening in case of inclement weather.
8th grade families-be sure permission slips for South High School are turned in. The field trip is on Wednesday morning. This is a great opportunity to learn different pathways and careers, along with much more. South’s Curriculum nights have been scheduled for families to attend on February 4 from 6-7pm. Counselors will be in for scheduling the following week.
Thursday and Friday are very important days this week. ILEARN Checkpoint State testing will take place in the morning. Make sure chromebooks are charged and ready to test.
On Thursday, our 7/8th grade ladies basketball team will travel to Otter Creek to take on the Otters. Good luck Scotties! They will also play in the Scottie Classic on Saturday hosted at SSMS.
Our Family Bowling Night at Vigo Bowl is on Monday, Jan. 27. This event is free for the family but you must sign up to reserve your spot on the google form sent via email.
An Honor Roll Celebration will be Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025 at 8:15 am to celebrate our Scotties for 2nd grading period. Invitations were sent with students.
One of our 6th grade Scotties, Leah, has been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. There are bracelets for sale in the main office for $2 to support.
It’s going to be bitter cold this week. Bundle up and be safe! We are excited to see you!
May you be proud of the work you do, the person you are, and the difference you make.
Ms. Rachel Cox
