Scottie Burst Nov. 11, 2024

Hello Sarah Scott Families,

First, thank you to all Veterans and those currently serving at this time. Last week our Spell Bowl Team placed 1st in the regional competition and placed 12th in the state. Congratulations! A shout-out to Eli Boyke and Braxton Shorter for being honored as representatives in the Central-Southwest All-Region Honor Band.

The Student Council is sponsoring “Change Wars” to help share Thanksgiving. Bring in change and fill those buckets to see if your success period will win the donut party! For more information, please see the flier.

On Tuesday, our 6th grade student athletes will have a home game beginning at 5:00 vs. Honey Creek while our 7/8th grade student athletes travel to Honey Creek. Lots of energy and talent on the court this season including our cheerleaders and dancers! Come out and cheer on the Scotties! Families, as per the VCSC policy, a parent/guardian must be with them at the game.

Wednesday is National Kindness Day. Please wear words of encouragement, “Be Kind” shirts, sweatshirts, and spread cheer throughout the building.

On Wednesday, our 7/8th grade student athletes will have a home game beginning at 5:00 vs. West Vigo while our 6th grade student athletes travel to West Vigo.

Thursday is National Diabetes Awareness Day. Please wear blue to support those with diabetes.

The Dog Tag Ceremony is also on Thursday. This is for Scotties who are recognized for always being responsible, respectful, and doing their best. You will receive a special invitation to attend.

On Thursday, our 6th grade student athletes will have a home game beginning at 5:00 vs. Woodrow Wilson while our 7/8th grade student athletes travel to Woodrow Wilson.

Finally, on Friday, midterm reports will be posted via skyward. Charge those chromebooks and have your lanyard with IDs ready. We can’t wait to see you in the morning.

It’s going to be an amazing week here at Sarah Scott.

May you be proud of the work you do, the person you are, and the difference you make.

Ms. Rachel Cox
