Hello Sarah Scott Families,
This week is county week for our Fall Sports teams which means it is Spirit Week. We love our dress up days here at Sarah Scott so have fun with them. Tomorrow is House Mania Day. The volleyball team will take on the staff in a fun volleyball game during our pep session. Students will report to 9th hour in the morning for a 1/9 switch tomorrow.
Tuesday is School Spirit Day so wear your orange, black, and white. Wednesday is Disney Day, Thursday is Twin Day, and Friday is Pajama Day. Can’t wait to see you this week!
Tomorrow is the beginning of the state ILEARN checkpoint tests. The tests are over the standards that have been taught up to this point in math and language arts. The tests will be 20-25 questions.
There is a scheduled 2 hour delay for Staff Professional Development on Wednesday, Oct 2. School will begin at 10:05.
Monday night, our volleyball team will play West Vigo for the first county game at West Vigo. If they win tomorrow night, they play Tuesday at Woodrow Wilson. The team has shown great improvement with Coach Kaylee and Coach Ava. Many games have been extremely close. Our tennis team will also be traveling to West Vigo. Both events begin at 5:00. On Tuesday, our tennis team will be traveling to Honey Creek which begins at 5:00.
Also on Tuesday, our dance crew will have a parent meeting at 5:30 in the cafeteria.
On Wednesday, our cross country team will have their county meet at the Lavern Gibson Course. They have had a great season running with Coach Smodilla and Coach O’Dell.
On Thursday, the Korean Club will begin. If your student would like to learn basic Korean language and culture, paper folding, and more, permission slips are in the main office. Registration is limited, so make sure to sign up.
On Friday, our tennis team will have their county meet at South High School. The team has had fun and shown improvement under the direction of the dynamic duo, Coach Strong and Coach Strong.
If your student needs help completing assignments or support in a subject area, Monday through Thursday, after school until 4:30, is available.
It’s going to be a fun, school spirit kind-of- week here at Sarah Scott.
