Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,

This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with your Scottie Burst for the week of May 14th. We are in the final stretch, as we wrap up the school year.  Here are your announcements for this week.

Congratulations to all of our Student Athletes for their exemplary performance at the County Track meet!  Za’Nariae White was the 1st place County winner in the 200, long jump and the 100!  She broke both the school and county record for the 200 and the long jump.  The record for the 200 has stood since 2006!  The long jump record stood since 1992.  Za’Nariae shattered both records.  Our 4 by 1 team got 1st place in county.  The members of that team are:  An’Tanaya Owens, Za-Ni’Liah Roberson, Samiya Garrett and Za’Nariae White.  Jazlyn Kelly got 2nd place in the 400.  Evan Price got 2nd place in long jump.  John Kaelber got 4th place in shot put. Kyran Thompson was the county winner in the 100 and high jump.  He got 2nd in the 200.  Zion Turner got 3rd place in the 100 and 200.  The 4 by 1 team got third place.  Josh Maxwell, Zyan Turner, DJ Roberson and Kyran Thompson.  Mariah Sandifer got 3rd place in the 200.  Congratulations to all of our student athletes!

Interested in joining the Sarah Scott Dance Team?  Auditions will be Monday from 5 to 7pm.

We will be honoring our student scholars on Wednesday evening at the Sarah Scott Top 10 Banquet.  This is a special dinner to recognize the academic excellence of the top 10 students in our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.  Scotties have received their invitations for themselves and two guests.  We hope you’ll put on your Sunday best and join us Wednesday.  If you haven’t done so, please return your RSVP.

Thursday, at 5:30, our Choir will have their Spring concert.  We hope you will join us for this event.

Friday is Field Day.  Parents, please be provide your student with sunscreen for this event, since our Scotties will be participating in  outside activities between 11:30 and 3:15.

If you haven’t done so yet, please join the Sarah Scott Facebook page.

Parents, just a reminder that if you haven’t signed up for Camp Curiosity, we have a few openings left.  We have a bunch of fun activities planned, and our Scotties will want to be a part of it.  Go to the Sarah Scott website and sign-up today!

Well, that was a bunch!  But that’s how we do it, “At Sarah Scott:  Where Hope is Inspired, Talent is Trained, and Potential is Developed!”
