Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,
This is Scotia Brown, your principal, with your Scottie Burst for the week of May 7th. Last week was full of activities and so is this week. Here are the activities for this week:
Sarah Scott, along with Catholic Charities, will have our food distribution on Monday, from 9 to 10:00. The food distribution is open to everyone. If you know of family or an individual, in need of food, they are welcome to come to Sarah Scott tomorrow morning and pick up a food box! Help us make a difference by spreading the word on your social media.
Monday will also be our last Meaningful Monday. We will see you outside of Sarah Scott with a copy of the school’s newsletter and a refreshment.
It’s County Week for our track and girls’ tennis team. And, that means it’s time for us to show our school spirit. Monday is Pajama Day
Tuesday is Superhero Day
Wednesday is “Can’t Wait for Summer Vacation Shirt Day”
Thursday is Hawaiian Day
Friday is Orange, Black and White Day
Parents, we have a number of field trips planned for our Scotties. It is very important that you return the permission slips by May 9th.

On Tuesday, we hope to see you at Sarah Scott’s Spring Band/Orchestra Concert. The concert begins at 5:30.
Wednesday evening, we will be honoring Mrs. Vicki Rich at the Excellence in Education Awards Banquet, at St. Mary of the Woods College. Mrs. Rich is an example of excellence because of her knowledge and dedication to our Scotties! Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
Also, on Wednesday, our track team will be competing in the county track meet. The meet will take at Terre Haute South Vigo High School. Let’s wish our athletes well as they go for the victory! The track meet begins at 5:00.
Friday will be a busy day, as our 6th grade teachers take their Scotties on a wonderful trip head to Racoon Lake. Our 8th grade Scotties will enjoy a discovery field trip, in which they will visit various sites, such as Indiana State University and the Historical Museum. These trips promise to be a great experience for our Scotties.
The county tennis match will be held Friday. The location will be announced in the near future.
It’s time for Super Saturday! This Saturday, from 10-2pm, we have something AMAZING planned for our Skyline Club members. Scotties, you will have the opportunity to see the behind the scenes workings at the Terre Haute International Airport! Learn what it takes to keep those planes in the air, by talking to airplane mechanics. Hear what goes into making sure the planes take off and land safely, by talking with air traffic controllers. Plus, we’ll get to have lunch at the airport, while we watch the planes take off and land. Pick up your permissions slips during lunch, or pick one up in the main office. Remember space is limited so, return your permission slip ASAP!
Auditions for the Sarah Scott Dance Teams will take place on Saturday, May 13th and Monday, May 15th. All interested Scotties must have a completed physical form on file. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Lugar.
