Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,

This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with your Scottie Burst for the week of October 2nd.

We wrapped up County Week, last week.  Congratulations to our boy’s tennis team, our girls’ volleyball teams and our cross country team.

Monday, we will begin tryouts for the 6th/7th grade boys’ basketball teams.    Tryouts begin tomorrow, right after school.  Remember, you must have a completed physical form, on file, in order to tryout.

Monday, after school, we will begin practice for our Spell Bowl team.

Tuesday evening, please support our cheerleaders.  Our cheerleaders are having a fundraiser at AZZIP pizza.  For our cheerleaders, you will have  practice at the normal time.  Immediately after practice, you are to go to AZZIP.  Sarah Scott family, if you can support our cheerleaders by having dinner at AZZIP, that would be wonderful!

Parents, please encourage your Scottie to read their library book.   We will be having a “Tailgating Party” on October 13th.  In order to participate,  Scotties must have 40 Reading Counts points.  Encourage them to read, read, read!

Here are some dates that you need to put on your calendars for next week.  Mark your calendars for next Monday, October 10th.  We’ll have our first Meaningful Monday for the school year.  As you drop off your Scottie, stop by and pick up a newsletter, a Danish, and a cup of hot chocolate.

Also, next Monday, we will also have our Sarah Scott Food distribution.  Please help us spread the word.  Tell you family, friends, and anyone you know who might need a food box.  The food distribution will be held from 9:00 to 10:00.

Tuesday, October 11th, please mark your calendars for our Parent Booster meeting.  Parents, we need your support.  We need your input.  Join us next Tuesday, for a delicious bowl of chili and some fun with book bingo.  It’s free and it’s guaranteed to be fun!  Join us at 5:30 in the school cafeteria.

We are quickly coming to the end of the grading  period.  Please check your Scotties Skyward account for missing assignments and encourage him/her to get their work turned in.  If you have questions, feel free to email his/her teachers through Skyward or Canvas.

If your Scottie could use some math support, help is available every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30  to 4:30, with Mr. Tyler.

I’d like to restart Principals’ Open Door.  Principal’s Open Door is a time, set aside each Monday, to discuss any concerns you have.  I would love to talk with you each Monday from 3:15 to 4:30.  Just call the school, at 812-462-4381, to make an appointment.

Our parents are our partners at Sarah Scott: Where Hope is Inspired, Talent is Trained and Potential is Developed.  Let’s have a great week!
