Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,

This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with your Scottie Burst for the week of August 21st.  Our first full week of school was great, and we look forward to this week being even more amazing!  So, here is the news and information you will need for the upcoming week:

Congratulations to all of our Scotties who made the varsity and JV cheerleading teams.  Our coach, Miss Baelee is looking forward to working with each of you!

We also want to congratulate our varsity and JV volleyball teams.  We had a lot of great talent to tryout for the teams.  We know we are going to have a great season!

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 5:00 to 6:30, tryouts for the Sarah Scott dance team will begin.  If you have dance skills, come on out and show us what you’re working with!  The Sarah Scott Dance team would love to have you!  Your attendance is mandatory this Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  If you have any questions, speak with Miss Lugar.  Just a reminder that you must have a current physical on file in order to tryout.  Parents can find the instructions for registering for Final Forms by going to our website and clicking on Athletics and then Parent Playbook or Register with Final Forms.

Scotties, you have been doing a GREAT job of wearing your student ID’s every day.  Keep up the good work!

Student Council is looking for a few good members!  If you’re interested in serving on the Sarah Scott Student Council, you can find member applications in Skyward and in your email.  Complete the application and return it to Miss Cox.   The deadline for all applications is Wednesday.

6th grade parents, CPR permission forms need to be returned, this week, to their science teachers.

For all of our 7th and 8th grade parents, your student could be eligible for the 21st Century Scholarship, which is worth $65,000!  The only thing you have to do is to complete application.  And, that only takes 15 minutes.  All 7th and 8th grade Scotties were  given a copy of the application.  Once they return it, they will receive 10 Scottie bucks.  Please, please, please fill out the application.  It is well worth your time!

Family, did you know that Sarah Scott has a food pantry?  It’s called Grandma’s Cupboard.  We know that families have hard times.  And we want to be there to help during those hard times.  If your family needs a food box, go to the Sarah Scott website and complete the Grandma’s Cupboard request and we’ll have a food box for you.  If you have any questions, you can call the school and ask for Miss Campbell-Miller.

Ain’t no family, like the Sarah Scott family, ’cause the Sarah Scott family don’t stop!  “At Sarah Scott:  Where Hope is Inspired, Talent is Trained, and Potential is Developed!”
