This is your principal, Scotia Brown, calling with your Scottie Burst for the week of March 6th. Here are your announcements for this week:
I love to share great news about our student scholars. On Saturday, some of our Scotties traveled to DePauw University to compete in the Regional Science Fair and they did an amazing job! Congratulations to Hayden Lugar, who won first place. Hayden will be representing Sarah Scott at the state level! Callie White and Adrianna Marren were honored with 2nd place. 3rd place honors were earned by Gabe Bemis, Phoenix Gibbons, Aiden Smith and Lukas Woodward. Hayden Lugar was also honored for having the most outstanding exhibit with science materials. Congratulations to each of these outstanding Scotties! We are so proud of you!
This is County Week, so you know what that means…it’s Spirit Week!
Monday is “Wear your school colors”- Orange, Black and White.
Tuesday is “Marvel/Superhero Day” (early dismissal)
Wednesday is “Fancy Dress Up Day”
Thursday is “Bring everything but a backpack Day” (bring your items for school in a suitcase, laundry basket, diaper bag, wagon, etc….as long as there are no backpacks!
Friday is “Pajama Day”…School appropriate, of course!
On Monday, our 6th and 7th grade girls’ basketball teams have a game against Honey Creek Middle School. This game will take place at Honey Creek Middle School. This game starts at 5:00.
If the teams are victorious on Monday, they will advance to the final county game. This game will be held at Terre Haute South High School and will begin at 6:00. We hope to see in the stands, cheering our teams on to victory!
Parents, please be aware that we will have early release on Tuesday. Scotties will be released at 2:30. We will not have Camp Adventure on Tuesday.
Good luck to the Sarah Scott Geography Bowl team as the compete, this Tuesday, in the Geography Bowl.
It’s Back! After three years, the Annual Sarah Scott Fish Fry will be held on Friday, March 18th from 4:30 to 7:30. And we need EVERYONE to come out and enjoy all you can eat catfish, pulled pork and all the sides. Tickets are $12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door. Tickets for children, under 10, are $8.00. There will be great food, a silent auction, a raffle, a bake sale and a great time. If you’ve never experienced the Sarah Scott Fish Fry, you don’t want to miss it! It’s worth the trip! Please help us spread the word. All monies raised go to support our Sarah Scott programs.
Our St. Patricks’ Day Mixer will be Friday, March 11th from 3:30 to 5:00. The cost is $5.00.
Spring sports, which include girls’ tennis and track season tryouts will begin Monday, March 14th. We’d like all our athletes to come out for the teams. Scotties must have a physical form on file in order to participate.
