Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,
This is your principal, Scotia Brown, calling with your first Scottie Burst for the 2022 year! Happy New Year! I hope that you each got to spend precious time with loved ones, creating memories and enjoying laughter. We are looking forward to our Scotties returning to school, bright and early tomorrow morning! Here’s what you need to know:
Monday starts a new grading period for our Scotties. Parents, we have support available for your Scottie, before and after school. Tutoring is available every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning from 7:25 to 7:55. After school tutoring is available every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:25 to 4:55. We can help your Scottie be successful, by helping them understand and complete their assignments…if they take advantage of the support. Please encourage your Scottie to take advantage of the help.
Call out to our 6th and 7th grade girls. We will begin tryouts for the basketball teams on Monday, right school. If you have skills and you have a completed physical form on file, we need you on the team!
Time for a road trip!. On Thursday, our 8th grade boys’ and girls‘ basketball teams have a game against Honey Creek Middle School. Come and travel with us. We need you in the stands to help cheer our teams on to victory!
Family, just another reminder that if any of your information has changed, such as your address or telephone number, please be sure to correct the information in Skyward.
We need your help with a couple of things:
- Please share with Scottie that, according to the VCSC school policy, middle school students may ONLY have their cell phones with them before school, after school and during lunch. Any other time the cell phones are REPQUIRED to be in their lockers.
- As our Scotties return to school, they need to be mindful of the dress code policy. If leggings are worn, they must be covered by a shirt that is mid-thigh. If jeans are worn with rips in them, the rips must be mid-thigh or lower. If the rips are above mid-thigh, leggings must be worn under the jeans.
Report cards will be posted Friday, in Skyward. Please check out your Scotties grades. This might be a great time to talk about getting extra help, if it’s needed.
Remember to charge those Chromebooks tonight.
