Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,
This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with your Scottie Burst for the week of January 8th. We have plenty of information to share with you, so let’s get started.
We always look forward to greeting you for Meaningful Monday. Tomorrow morning, we’ll meet you in front of Sarah Scott with Miss Campbell-Miller’s famous hot chocolate, a Danish and the school newsletter. You can also find a copy of the newsletter on our website.
Tomorrow from 9:00 to 10:00 Sarah Scott, in partnership with Catholic Charities, will have our food distribution. Everyone is welcome! Please help us reach, those in need by posting this on your social media.
Monday, at 6:00pm, our 8th grade boys’ basketball team will continue the trek for victory, as they travel to West Vigo Middle School. Please note that this game will begin at 6:00, at West Vigo.
Tuesday, we are excited to be honoring some of our Scotties who have gone above and beyond in representing the best in our Sarah Scott Scotties. Selected by teachers and staff, these Scotties will be recognized for their excellence by receiving a “Dog Tag” at our Dog Tag Ceremony on Tuesday at 2:30.
Tuesday, our 8th grade boys will have the home court advantage, as they compete against Otter Creek Middle School. This is a home game and will begin at 5:00.
Congratulations to our Scotties who earned 40 Reading Counts points! On Wednesday, we will be celebrating these students with a Bowling and Inflatable party. Permission slips will be sent home for parents to sign and return.
On Thursday, we head over to Woodrow Wilson Middle School, where our 8th grade boys’ basketball team will be working hard for the victory. This away game will begin at 5:00. Please join us in supporting our boys’ basketball, cheerleaders and dance team, as they represent Sarah Scott.
Math support is available with Mr. Tyler on Mondays’, Wednesdays, and Fridays’ from 3:30 to 4:30.
Our Scotties began a new grading period last week. You can see your Scotties grades for the last grading period posted on Canvas.
By attending school every day, completing assignments, taking advantage of tutoring support, completing ALEKS topics and earning Reading Counts points, and bringing in a fully charged Chromebook and classroom materials, we believe they have everything needed to be successful. “At Sarah Scott: Where hope is Inspired, Talent is Trained, and Potential is Developed!”
