This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with your Scottie Burst for the week of November 27th. We hope everyone has enjoyed a Thanksgiving holiday with family and loved ones. We are looking forward to having our Scotties return to us bright and early Monday morning. So, let’s get started with your announcements for this upcoming week:
Parents please join us November 30th at 6:00 for our Parent Booster meeting. Parents, your input and support is so important for the success of your students. Let’s make that happen by your joining the Parent Boosters. The meeting will only last one hour. We will meet in the cafeteria. Please come.
Parents, have you had the chance to check out your Scotties mid-term grades? Mid-term grades were posted last Tuesday. If your Scottie needs support with math, help is available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3:30 to 4:30 with Mr. Tyler.
Be sure to check out Canvas. On Canvas, you can see your Scotties grades, missing assignments, etc. Canvas Family Access will allow you to see your student’s announcements, assignments, and assignment grades. Thursday, Student Council is sponsoring a holiday movie. For $5.00, Scotties can enjoy popcorn, a drink and the movie Noelle. The movie starts right after school and will end at 5:30. Concessions will be sold.
On Friday morning, our 8th graders will be going on a field trip to Ivy Tech Community College. Permission slips will be sent home early this week. Please sign and return the permission slips asap.
Friday evening, Sarah Scott will be hosting the Snowball Dance, at Sarah Scott, for all of our 8th grader Scotties. This is planned to be a magical evening for all of our 8th graders to enjoy. The dance will be from 7:00 to 9:00. Tickets cost $10.00 and can be purchased in the main office.
The Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club will be sponsoring the 7th grade Peppermint Dreams dance on Friday, December 2nd from 7:00 to 9:00. Tickets cost $15.00, in advance, and $20.00 at the door. Tickets must be purchased at the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club.
