Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,
This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with your Scottie Burst for the week of October 30th.
We are well into the 2nd half of the grading period and we want you to be informed. On October 24th, an email was sent to your Skyward account giving directions on how you can create a Canvas account. By creating a Canvas Family Access account, you will be able to see your child’s announcements, assignments, and assignment grades. If you have any questions about how to set up your Canvas account, just call Sarah Scott and ask for Miss Weatherspoon, our secretary, and she will be glad to assist you.
Parents, your Scottie should be working to complete 60 ALEKS math topics. Scotties can work to complete these topics during 9th period and at home. Please encourage your Scottie to complete the topics.
For our 7th and 8th grade parents, have you returned your 21st Century scholarship application? It only takes 15 minutes to complete the form. And, it could be worth $65,000 for your Scottie. We are having an ice cream social on Friday, November 4th for every Scottie who turns in the completed form. To enjoy some wonderful ice cream, on Friday, the form must be returned by Thursday.
If you weren’t at Sarah Scott on Thursday, you missed it. But, you’ll have another chance o join us this Thursday, when our 6th and 7th grade boys’ basketball teams take to the floor to bring home another victory. This time our Scotties will be matching their skills against Woodrow Wilson Middle School. Come see our boys show up! Join us in the bleachers and let’s cheer them on to victory! The game starts at 5:00.
Did you know that our Sarah Scott games are livestreamed? Yep, that’s right. If you can’t join us live, you can go to YouTube and login Scottie LiveStream.
Friday is picture retake day. If you were dissatisfied with your Scotties pictures. Or, your Scottie didn’t have pictures taken, Friday is the day for pictures.
Tomorrow is Halloween and we are recognizing “Drugs are Scary”. Students are allowed to wear costumes, school appropriate, of course. No masks, gore, or weapons.
In honor of Veteran’s Day, we are creating a Wall of Honor. Scotties, if you have a family member who served in the military that you would like to have on the “Wall of Honor”, fill out the google form, with your parent/guardian by November 4th. The form was emailed to you.
Mark your calendars for next Monday for our next Meaningful Monday As you drop off your Scottie, we’ll have hot chocolate, a Danish and our parent newsletter for you.
Thank you for supporting us, as we work to make a difference, “At Sarah Scott: Where Hope is Inspired, Talent is Trained, and Potential is Developed!”
