The eighth grade Language Arts students under the direction of Mrs. Laurren McDermott and Mrs. Amy Schorr completed Passion Projects and presented them in the Media Center on Friday, May 20th. The students were asked to conduct research, create a product, and then present their research and product to their classmates and parents. Students were allowed to choose their own topics which resulted in a great variety of “passions” shared.

An example of this is Kena Nash’s canned food drive for the 14th & Chestnut Community Center.  Her efforts resulted in 246 cans collected from the Honey Creek Middle School advisory classes.  She also rewarded the class that brought in the most canned goods, and Mr. Spencer’s class won Square Donuts!

Congratulations to the students who did such a great job with this end of the year activity!
