Students in Mrs. Schorr’s 8th grade literature class enjoyed a Book Tasting event on January 13th and 14th in the Honey Creek media center. “Patrons” moved to different tables in our book “restaurant” and “tasted” books from different genres including informational text, poetry, fantasy, realistic fiction, mystery, biography and autobiography, and graphic novels. Students read brief selections from various books chosen by Mrs. Schorr and Mrs. Webb, media specialist. When they returned to class, they added their favorites to their “To Be Read” lists. Some of the most popular “entrees” included Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, My Survival: A Girl on Schindler’s List by Rena Fidler, Wings of Fire: The Lost Heir by Tui T. Sutherland, Prisoner B-3087 by Alan Gratz, and Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanan.
