The Honey Creek MS Jazz Band attended the Purdue University Jazz Band Festival on Saturday, Jan. 22nd and competed in the middle school division. Over 70 middle and high school jazz bands were in attendance at the festival.
Honey Creek received a “Division 1 Rating” (highest rating) and placed in the top 3 of all middle school groups. Honey Creek had several students receive outstanding soloist awards:
- Zander Tracy, 8th Grade Tenor Saxophone
- Andrew Moorse, 8th Grade Drum Set
- Audric Martin, 7th Grade Upright Bass
- Jeffery Chen, 8th Grade Piano
- Colby Ellison, 8th grade Piano
- Kaiden Alexander, 8th Grade Trombone
- Landon Piloni, 8th Grade Bari Saxophone
- Yash Parkish, 7th Grade Trombone
- Chris Gosingco, 8th Grade Alto Saxophone
Landon Piloni was also recognized as the top middle school soloist and received a Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp Scholarship at the finale concert with the Purdue Jazz Band.
