Strategies for Helping Your Child
You can do a great deal to help your child to succeed in mathematics. Here are some strategies that be used throughout the year with any of the mathematical units.
- Encourage your child to do his or her homework on a regular basis.
- Have your child show you his or her math notes and explain to you what they have been doing in class
- Have your child explain to you what each word in the vocabulary section of the notebook means to him/her. If your child is struggling with any words, together you might look the words up in a dictionary or look through the unit to get a better idea of what each team means.
- Encourage your student by showing him or her that you believe that they can succeed if they try and work hard at the assignment.
