About Me
Hello! I’m Mrs. Shaw, and I’m so happy to have your child in my classroom this year! I’m originally from Indiana but spent several years in sunny Arizona, where I taught and worked in our local school system for nine years. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and am thrilled to be starting my second year in third grade here at Dixie Bee. I’m so proud to be a part of the hive!
I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 30 years, and we have two amazing daughters. Lauren will graduate from ISU this December, and Megan recently started working independently running her own hair salon business. We also share our home with our sweet poodle mix, Buddy, who keeps us all entertained!
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy cheering the Colts on at their home games, attending Broadway shows, and spending time with my family. I’m looking forward to another great year full of learning and growing together! You will be amazed how much your child will grow by leaps and bounds this year!
Classroom Supply List
- School Supply box or pouch to hold the following supplies:

- 2 Pencils (no mechanical pencils)
- 1 Pink eraser
- 2 Glue sticks – (no bottled glue)
- Scissors – 1 pair
- 1 box of 24 crayons
- Dry erase markers – 1 package in black
- 2 Highlighters – one yellow and one in any other color your student likes.

- 1 Binder – 1 inch – any solid color
- 1 Plastic pocket folder – We use this as a daily “Save & Do Later” folder. It is kept in your student’s desk for the whole year and will receive a lot of wear and tear.
- 2 Spiral notebooks – wide ruled – any color or design
- Reusable water bottle
- Please no pencil sharpeners!
