Meet The Beekeepers

I am happy to be the assistant principal at Dixie Bee Elementary School.  I have been an educator in the  Vigo County School Corporation for almost 25 years.  I have been fortunate enough to teach at the elementary, middle and high school levels in both general and special education.  In 2018, I earned by administrator’s license and came to join Mrs. Cassell at Dixie Bee.  During the 2020-2021 school year, I was interim principal at West Vigo Elementary School until it closed and I came back to the hive.   When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Joe and daughters Ellie, Abbie and Audrey.  We have three dogs as well as barnyard animals for 4H that keep us very busy, especially in the summertime.  I love to share pictures of animals with the students at Dixie Bee and I look forward to a great school year! 

I received my BS in elementary education and Masters degree in Educational Administration from Indiana State University.  For the past thirty-two years, I have been blessed to teach elementary special education and general education students. I have also had the privilege to serve as an administrator at both the elementary and middle school levels.  Beyond the school day, I am “Memaw” to four beautiful and talented grandchildren. My oldest grandson, Branson, is a student at Dixie Bee. He has a little sister, Bristen and two cousins named Parker and Paxton. We love spending time together, especially at our condo on the beach!
