Re: School Board Approval Item-School Year Meal Prices
The Food Service Department is requesting a price increase in order to meet the requirements of The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 & Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization. Section 205” Equity in School Meal Pricing.” Schools are required to charge students for paid meals at a price that is on average equal to the difference between free meal reimbursement and paid meal reimbursements. The minimum increase is $0.10 per school year.
The Food Service Department is requesting School Board approval for an increase of $0.10 for both breakfast and lunch at the Elementary and Secondary Schools. This will make all breakfasts $1.45 and lunches at Elementary Schools $3.00 and Secondary Schools $3.15.
Adult pricing will remain the same at $2.50 for breakfast and $4.60 for lunch for the 2022-23 school year.
