Hi, I’m Mrs. Thompson!
My name is Kelly Thompson. I am the Speech-Language Pathologist at Terre Town Elementary. I work alongside Miss Leigh, our Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. Together we service all PreK-5th grade students who have speech and/or language impairments in this school. We are a great team and have worked hard over recent years to make the Speech and Language Resource Room a great place to be!
I obtained my bachelor’s degree and my master’s degree from Indiana State University. I completed my degree in 2014. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as a professional educator’s license in the area of Communication Disorders from the Indiana Department of Education. I have worked in several settings since graduation, with time spent in an outpatient clinic, hospital, skilled nursing facility and rehabilitation center, clinical supervisor, and now am happy to be working in education.
My husband and I live in Illinois. We have a young son who keeps us busy. I enjoy audiobooks and podcasts, spending time outdoors, gardening, shopping, and time spent with family and friends.
Our classroom does not have a supply list. We do have a wish list. Feel free to check it out.
These items will help us keep a sanitary classroom.
- Disinfectant wipes (ex: Lysol)
- Kleenex
- Hand sanitizer gel
- Paper towels
- Always try your best – We work on challenging skills. It is ok if something is difficult. Ask for more help. It is not ok to not try.
- No cell phones or gum please. You may bring your ChromeBook.
- Be Kind! We’re all here to learn.
- Be respectful – Treat teachers and friends how you would like to be treated.

Week 1: Therapy week
Week 2: Therapy week
Week 3: Therapy week
Week 4: Indirect week (reserved for make-up therapy sessions, conferences, paperwork, etc.)
Daily Schedule
8:00-8:30: Prepare lessons and paperwork
8:30-9:00: Speech and language groups
9:00-10:00: Google Meets for distance learners
10:00-11:15: Speech and language groups
11:15-12:00: Lunch
12:00-2:30: Speech and language groups
