I am proud to say that I have been a teacher in the Vigo County School Corporation for 28 years. I taught Kindergarten for 7 years. Then I moved up to 4th grade which I taught for 11 years. Finally for the last 10 years I have been working with 2nd graders! I love teaching and working with children from different grade levels. I feel it keeps me fresh and ready for new challenges each year. I don’t think I could choose one grade over the other. Each one is special and unique in its own way.
I attended the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana. There I earned my teaching degree. After getting my first job with VCSC I completed my Masters of Education at Indiana State University. I am originally from WestTerre Haute. I went to West Vigo Elementary School, West Vigo Middle School and West Vigo High School. Go Vikings!!!
I enjoy woodworking, watching football, and watching baseball. I love the Green Bay Packers and the St. Louis Cardinals!!!
A few interesting facts about me that you might not know.
I have climbed the Great Wall of China.
I have walked through the Kremlin.
I have carved a bowl out of wood that looks like the state of Indiana.
I can’t think of another job that I would like to be doing. Teaching is always exciting and rewarding. After all these years being in the classroom I still learn new things daily from my students.
