Welcome to Mrs. DeWitt’s Classroom!

Welcome to my teacher page! Second graders are curious and eager learners. I love my job!

I am married to my best friend. We have four grown children and one grandson. I teach second grade with great colleagues and wonderful students. I collect smiles and hugs.  I am always grateful to hear from students I’ve had in the past.

I was born in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in Peoria, Illinois.  I attended Fontbonne University in St. Louis, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree.  After graduating, I  taught in Rolla, Missouri, Batesville, Arkansas and Terre Haute.  I have been a classroom teacher in preschool, kindergarten, first, second and third grades.  I have also taught reading to fourth and fifth graders in small groups.  I enjoy teaching second grade at Sugar Grove.

I love being a member of the Sugar Grove staff! Sugar Grove is a fantastic place to work, because it is full of caring people who want what is best for our students.
