Welcome to Mrs. Mimms’s Classroom!

Hello, my name is Dorothy Mimms, but I prefer to be called Dot.  This is my second year teaching Kindergarten at Sugar Grove and have loved working with the younger students.  I have worked in other areas of teaching, but have found a home here at the special school.

I have been married for thirty years and have three sons.  Family is quite important to me and I look forward to my youngest starting at THS this year and watching him play soccer.

The Kindergarten year  is filled with much to learn.  I hope we can work together and all students learn as much as they can learn.  We do some home projects which the students love.  They will be reading and writing by the end of the school year, so working together is very important.  I want you to feel free to contact me through the school with a message or email anytime with questions or concerns.

I look forward to this school year because the Kindergarten Team work closely to help each student succeed.  We have many fun and interesting things planned.
