Welcome to Mrs. Brown’s Classroom!

My name is Ashley Brown, and this is my eighth year at Sugar Grove teaching Kindergarten. This is my 15th year teaching in Vigo County, but I have spend half my life working and teaching the youth. I taught six years at Sarah Scott Middle School and one year with first grading reading intervention. I knew in sixth grade I wanted to teach students, not only the traditional lessons, but about being productive citizens and about all the wonderful things that our wold has to offer.

I grew up here in Terre Haute and loved being a part of the Vigo County school corporation. I received my bachelor’s degree in Early and Mid-Level Education at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. It was always a goal to come back to my home town and give back by teaching the next generations.

Kindergarten is such fun year! We have so many new things to learn in reading and math. You are such an important part in your child’s growth! I hope that this year we can work together to help your child succeed!

Some of my interests outside of school include reading, watching movies, and spending time with family. I love being with my family!

I just know this year will be great! I love seeing the academic growth of a kindergarten student!
