Description

Students in the Textiles, Apparel, and Merchandising pathway prepare for occupations and higher education programs of study related to the entire spectrum of careers in the fashion industry. They explore a comprehensive overview of the industry related to fashion related goods and production. They study textiles like fiber, yarn, fabric construction, and finishes which affect the selection, use, and care of textiles. In the capstone, students study the evolution of Western dress from ancient times to modern times, identify physical features that affect apparel quality, and analyze ready-to-wear apparel.
