Description

Students in the Facilities Maintenance pathway explore principles of construction trades, which prepares students with the basic skills needed to continue in a construction trade field. They learn how to complete basic maintenance tasks like minor construction repairs and repairing/replacing flooring, wall covering, hardware, lighting, and plumbing fixtures. They also learn advanced repairs including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. In the capstone, students explore processing work orders, fair housing regulation compliance, environmental and regulation compliance, reporting/documenting maintenance activities and implementation of a preventive maintenance schedule.
