How to Make a Cheese Ball

By Brayden Alkire

How do you make a cheese ball? A cheese ball is great around the holidays and so easy to make. I have always loved making cheese balls with my grandma for Thanksgiving and Christmas and I think you guys will like them too. Here’s a simple recipe for making your own cheese ball at home. My family and I like cheese balls so much we make them year round. You can also make a dessert cheese ball if your looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Cheese ball Ingredients

  • 1 pound (2 blocks) cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup minced green bell pepper
  • 4 scallions, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about 1 small lemon)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Make the cheese ball:

In a large bowl, add the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bell pepper, scallions, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Mash the ingredients together using a big fork. Taste and adjust flavors to your liking.

You can serve the cheese ball immediately or wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and keep it in the fridge for up to a week. Serve with crackers or chips.

April Fool’s Jokes

By Emma Barbour- Morley and Aly McCammon

Just because it’s not April Fools Day doesn’t mean you can’t pull a prank!

1 Swap Sleeper

Swap Sleeper is where you move your kid from one bed to another bed or another room.

2 Frozen Breakfast

Frozen Breakfast is where you make a bowl of cereal for your kids the night before and you freeze it the night before. Then when it’s breakfast time, the next morning you get the cereal out of the freezer and give it to someone to eat. When they try to eat it, they won’t be able to because it’s frozen!

3 Underwear Suprise

Swap out their underwear drawer with a bathing suit.

4 Balloon Pillow

Replace your other half pillow with a balloon inside the pillowcase so when they lay down the balloon pops!

5 Bug in Ice

Add fake bugs to your ice cube trays before freezing the water!

6 Sweet trick

Offer up brownies as an afternoon snack, but everyone will be shocked when they find brown letter “E”s (get it — brown “E”s?) instead!

7 Bathroom Hoax

Use a Q-tip to put gel food coloring around the inside of the faucet in the bathtub or sink. When the water is turned on, you’ll have colored water! You might want to stay away from red. This is April Fools’ and not Halloween, after all.

8 Whoopee

Put a whoopee cushion under a chair cushion

9 Milk Shenanigans

Add a few drops of food coloring to the carton of milk; when it gets poured, they’ll get a colorful surprise!

10 Cupcakes for Dinner

Bake up mini meatloaves in muffin cups. Then “frost” them with creamy mashed potatoes.

11 Short sheet a person’s bed before bedtime

Fold and tuck in the top sheet of (a bed) so that it simulates both the top and bottom sheets: when the victim of this joke enters the bed, his or her legs are obstructed by the fold.

12 Switch the Salt and Sugar

Simply switch the sugar and salt shakers. As your friends drink their coffee or tea, they will be surprised by the salty flavor.
