Hello! My name is Michaela Gauer and I am a 3rd-grade teacher.  I have been teaching for 19 years! I have had the opportunity to teach 5th grade, 4th grade, 3rd grade, and 2nd grade at Lost Creek! It has been so much fun working with different age groups and learning the expectations of each grade level. I feel this helps me to prepare my students accordingly for the challenges ahead.

My family and I moved to Terre Haute, IN about thirteen years ago. I am from Colorado and began my teaching career there. I have a husband, Larry, and three children. My oldest son Nathan is a junior at Indiana University in Bloomington. Caroline is a senior at North High School and Logan is a 2nd grader at Lost Creek.  Logan loves to be able to come to school with his mom!

I love reading books, fitness, and teaching. I believe in fostering the love of reading in my students. Reading is such an important life skill, and it can bring so much joy to people. I feel blessed to be able to work with children and to help them become successful and happy people.
