Welcome to second grade at Farrington Grove!
I have been teaching for 16 years. The last 10 years have been at Farrington Grove. I can’t imagine teaching anywhere else!
I believe school is for nourishing the mind and inspiring children to flourish. I believe learning happens all the time. I try to promote a love of learning by encouraging students to notice the world around them, make connections and delight in everything. As a teacher I want to instill a spirit of ambition in my students. I try to create a high-achieving learning community that supports the emotional, social and academic needs of my students and prepares them to be life-long learners.
I believe children learn best together in a community that is safe and conducive to learning. Our learning community is built through sharing experiences and demonstrating behaviors that support the learning environment along with developing social skills that promote positive relationships.
Learning is hard work! It requires perseverance and practice to acquire new skills. I encourage students to put forth the effort because I know that becoming a life-long learner will positively impact their success in life.

Please only label backpack and headphones with your child’s name.
- 40 or more pencils (sharpened if possible/no mechanical pencils please)
- 1 box of 24 count Crayola crayons
- 1 12 ct. box of Crayola colored pencils
- 1 3-prong plastic folder (purple)
- 1 inch (please no larger) white three ring binder
- 1 box of Ziploc bags with sliders (1 sandwich size, 1 gallon size)
- 3 boxes of tissues
- 1 pack of 4 Expo Dry Erase markers (black)
- 1 roll of paper towels
- 2 cans of Clorox wipes
- Wired on ear Headphones (no earbuds please)
- Backpack (No wheels please.)
