About Me

Welcome to Kindergarten classroom!  My name is Mrs. Davis and I am so excited to have you and your child in class this year.  Second grade is a wonderful year filled with learning, hands-on projects, and fun!  After graduating from Indiana State University in 2014, I began my career teaching in the Vigo County School Corporation.    I have taught several grades including 5th grade, 2nd grade, and 1st grade.  Rio Grande is a wonderful place to both work and learn, and I am honored to be a part of the Bobcat community!

I believe children learn best in a positive environment.  That is why I use Class Dojo as my main behavior management system.  I use this program to award students with points for positive behavior.  While this program allows students to also have points taken away, I typically only take points from a student for serious infractions.  I have found that awarding points is much more effective to keep students following the rules.  Students can earn points for completing their homework, staying on task, being helpful to others, being kind, keeping their desk neat and tidy, and any other action that follows school rules.  Students can then use their points to buy prizes in the Class Dojo Store.
