Hello Families!
Welcome to my Rio Grande website! I began my teaching career just a few months after graduating from Indiana State University in 1990. I am married and I have two grown sons and two beautiful grandchildren. I am looking forward to teaching your child this year in first grade! If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am looking forward to a fun and exciting school year with your child!
- 2 boxes of crayons
- 1 pair of scissors (blunt)
- 2 large boxes of tissues
- 1 plastic school box (not the large one)
- 48 or 2 boxes of 24 (number 2) pencils
- 2 packs of Twistable colored pencils
- 6 glue sticks
- 1 large pink eraser
- 1 small box of pencil top erasers
- 2 plastic purple folders with prongs
- 8 dry erase markers (fine-tip, black)
We would appreciate it, but don’t require these items. Paper towels, quart and/ or gallon zip top baggies
Please no Trapper Keepers, paints, three ring binders, or notebooks. We will provide writing paper.

- Donations of zip lock bags are appreciated.
- Please take your child’s supplies out of the packaging and place his/her name on them with a permanent marker. You may also want to place your child’s initials on his/her pencils.

- Respect others. Be kind with your words and actions.
- Respect school and personal property. (your own & your classmates)
