Welcome ROO (Readers Of Ouabache) friends!! Thank you for visiting my page.
I came to Ouabache in 2008 as the new Library Media Specialist, and felt right at home the moment I walked through the doors. Needless to say, I LOVE it here! Ouabache’s “media center” has been a labor of love for me from the beginning, and I adore every inch of our little library. The Cozy Corner, Story Pit, and our pretty outdoor reading area (Maggie’s Garden) are all wonderful places for ROO kiddos to enjoy when visiting.
We usually host 2 Book Fairs per year (Fall & Spring), and I am always looking for volunteers who would like to come help. Keep an eye out for flyers being sent home in November & March to sign up. As a thank you, I always offer your child a free book of their choice from the fair.
My husband (Ron) and I were married waaaay back in 1987. We have 3 sons (Jake, Lee & Max), 1 granddaughter (Ryleigh), 1 grandson (Ezra), and 2 of the bestest fur baby doggos in the world (Angus & Tessa). We live out in the country about 50 minutes from Ouabache. I spend my drive time listening to books-on-tape & Dateline podcasts.
Mr. Secrest & I love going to Bed & Breakfast places within a 6 hour drive. One of our favorites was in a little Kentucky town called Rabbit Hash. We even got to meet the mayor: a French bulldog named Wilbur! https://www.facebook.com/mayorwilbur/
- Always be respectful of the teacher’s right to teach, other students’ right to learn, and everyone in the classroom.
- NO cell phone or gum in my classroom.
- Arrive to class on time every day with ALL your needed books and supplies.
- I will dismiss you at the end of class – NOT the bell.
