Educational Background
I graduated from Princeton Community High School in 1987. I then attended Indiana State University and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I received a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2004 and a Master’s Degree in Administration in 2021.
Professional Background
I began teaching 5th grade at Turkey Run Elementary School. I taught there for two years, then transferred to Woodrow Wilson in 2001. I taught 6th and 7th grade Reading and English at Woodrow Wilson for 22 years. In 2018, I received the Excellence in Education Award and the 2019 Teacher of the Year title for the Vigo County School Corporation. For the past three years, I have been a Reading Coach for the school corporation and have worked at Lost Creek, Meadows, Sugar Grove, Benjamin Franklin, and all five middle schools. I am now back teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Reading and English at Woodrow Wilson.
Personal Information
I have been married to Jeff for 35 years. We have two children, Kari and Jake. Kari graduated from North High School and is a 7th-grade teacher at Woodrow Wilson. Jake is also a graduate of North and works for our family business, a dental laboratory. I am now a nana of three grandsons! I enjoy watching sports (especially basketball), reading, riding my e-bike, camping, and spending time with my family.
