Professional History:
During my student teaching experience, I was fortunate to receive the tutelage of Mr. Jeff Cobb and Golden Apple Award winner Mrs. Melanie Beaver at West Vigo Middle and High School. I learned a great deal and was excited, upon graduation in December, to be hired as a long-term substitute teaching English and Literature at Woodrow Wilson. With the success of that mid-year transition, I was asked to become a permanent seventh grade teacher.
Along with teaching, I coach boys’ cross country and track.
A published author, I have won the Mary Reid McBeth Contest for fiction and nonfiction, as well as had short story publications in Indiana English, Grasslands Review, After Images, and The Tonic. Two other short stories can be found on the Terre Haute Living Magazine web site.
Personal Information:
In my spare time, I love traveling with my wife, Mrs. Sluder. We enjoy antiquing, historic towns and buildings, as well as exercising. When we’re relaxing at home, we generally hang out with our two cats, Mr. Fitzgerald and Mr. Tulip.
