This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with the last Scottie Burst for the 2021-2022 school year!\u00a0 Can you believe that this school year is over!<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve had so many wonderful successes.\u00a0 Here is just a brief overview of SOME of those successes: Our Spell Bowl Team was runner up in the state.\u00a0 Our 6th<\/sup>\u00a0grade boys\u2019 and our 6th grade girls were runner up in the County.\u00a0 Our 6th<\/sup>, 7th<\/sup>\u00a0and 8th<\/sup>\u00a0grade track team placed 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0in the county.\u00a0 We even broke some Sarah Scott and County records!\u00a0 Our academic teams did an AMAZING job competing.\u00a0 In fact, our math super bowl team won 1stplace in the regionals.\u00a0 Six of our 6th<\/sup>\u00a0grade math team placed in the Top 10 in the county!\u00a0 Fourteen of our Scotties went to the Regional Science Fair and one of our Scotties went on to compete at the state level!\u00a0 Sarah Scott became the first middle school in the state to have a rowing team!<\/p>\n

We were state finalists fore Math Counts.\u00a0 We raised money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Riley Children’s Hospital.<\/p>\n

We received wonderful support from the community for the Sarah Scott Fish Fry.\u00a0 Our Sarah Scott Scotties, in partnership with Catholic Charities fed over 3,000 people this school year!\u00a0 Our Top 10 Banquet celebrated the top 10 scholars in each grade level with a wonderful evening of celebration.<\/p>\n

Our Scotties went on field trips to WTHI, WISH-TV in Indianapolis, Paoli, IN and ISU Field Campus.<\/p>\n

We celebrated the success of our Scotties, who completed over 40,000 ALEKS math topic and earned 14,000 Reading Counts points and were rewarded, for their efforts\u00a0with trips to the Climbing Caf\u00e9, Bowling, ice cream socials, and a private showing of Spider Man.<\/p>\n

We will begin next school year with 34 WEB leaders who will be trained to be mentors and support the success of our incoming 6th graders!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I know this is a lot, but it’s important that we share, just SOME of the GREAT things our Scotties are doing!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We will wrap up this year with \u201cField Day\u201d, on Monday, to celebrate our Scotties, who have done a great job!<\/p>\n

8th<\/sup>\u00a0grade graduation will be held Thursday, May 27th<\/sup>\u00a0at 6:00 in the gymnasium.<\/p>\n

Camp Curiosity will begin May 31st<\/sup>\u00a0thru June 17th\u00a0<\/sup>from 8:00 to 12:00.\u00a0 We are excited to have Scotties joining us for3 weeks of fun activities!\u00a0 Hopefully, you\u2019ve signed your Scotties up for Camp Curiosity, because it is going to be fun!\u00a0 Breakfast and lunch will be served, and transportation will be provided to\/from your Scotties elementary school.<\/p>\n

Please mark your calendars.\u00a0 We will have our food distribution on June 13th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n
