This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with your Scottie Burst for the week of May 14th<\/sup>. We are in the final stretch, as we wrap up the school year.\u00a0 Here are your announcements for this week.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to all of our Student Athletes for their exemplary performance at the County Track meet!\u00a0 Za\u2019Nariae White was the 1st<\/sup>\u00a0place County winner in the 200, long jump and the 100!\u00a0 She broke both the school and county record for the 200 and the long jump.\u00a0 The record for the 200 has stood since 2006!\u00a0 The long jump record stood since 1992.\u00a0 Za\u2019Nariae shattered both records.\u00a0 Our 4 by 1 team got 1st<\/sup>\u00a0place in county.\u00a0 The members of that team are:\u00a0 An\u2019Tanaya Owens, Za-Ni\u2019Liah Roberson, Samiya Garrett and Za\u2019Nariae White.\u00a0 Jazlyn Kelly got 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0place in the 400.\u00a0 Evan Price got 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0place in long jump.\u00a0 John Kaelber got 4th<\/sup>\u00a0place in shot put. Kyran Thompson was the county winner in the 100 and high jump.\u00a0 He got 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0in the 200.\u00a0 Zion Turner got 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0place in the 100 and 200.\u00a0 The 4 by 1 team got third place.\u00a0 Josh Maxwell, Zyan Turner, DJ Roberson and Kyran Thompson.\u00a0 Mariah Sandifer got 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0place in the 200.\u00a0 Congratulations to all of our student athletes!<\/p>\n

Interested in joining the Sarah Scott Dance Team?\u00a0 Auditions will be Monday from 5 to 7pm.<\/p>\n

We will be honoring our student scholars on Wednesday evening at the Sarah Scott Top 10 Banquet.\u00a0 This is a special dinner to recognize the academic excellence of the top 10 students in our 6th<\/sup>, 7th<\/sup>, and 8th<\/sup>\u00a0grade.\u00a0 Scotties have received their invitations for themselves and two guests.\u00a0 We hope you\u2019ll put on your Sunday best and join us Wednesday.\u00a0 If you haven\u2019t done so, please return your RSVP.<\/p>\n

Thursday, at 5:30, our Choir will have their Spring concert.\u00a0 We hope you will join us for this event.<\/p>\n

Friday is Field Day.\u00a0 Parents, please be provide your student with sunscreen for this event, since our Scotties will be participating in\u00a0 outside activities between 11:30 and 3:15.<\/p>\n
