This is Scotia Brown, your principal, with your Scottie Burst for the week of May 7th<\/sup>. Last week was full of activities and so is this week.\u00a0 Here are the activities for this week:<\/p>\n

Sarah Scott, along with Catholic Charities, will have our food distribution on Monday, from 9 to 10:00.\u00a0 The food distribution is open to everyone.\u00a0 If you know of family or an individual, in need of food, they are welcome to come to Sarah Scott tomorrow morning and pick up a food box!\u00a0 Help us make a difference by spreading the word on your social media.<\/p>\n

Monday will also be our last Meaningful Monday.\u00a0 We will see you outside of Sarah Scott with a copy of the school\u2019s newsletter and a refreshment.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s County Week for our track and girls\u2019 tennis team.\u00a0 And, that means it\u2019s time for us to show our school spirit.\u00a0 \u00a0 Monday is Pajama Day<\/p>\n

Tuesday is Superhero Day<\/p>\n

Wednesday is \u201cCan\u2019t Wait for Summer Vacation Shirt \u00a0 Day\u201d<\/p>\n

Thursday is Hawaiian Day<\/p>\n

Friday is Orange, Black and White Day<\/p>\n

Parents, we have a number of field trips planned for our Scotties.\u00a0 It is very important that you return the permission slips by May 9th.<\/p>\n

Scotties,\u00a0your ALEKS and Reading Counts points are due on Monday.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 If you\u2019re planning to join us for the Blacklight Bowling party, you must have your 75 ALEKS or 30 Reading Count points turned in by Monday.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, we hope to see you at Sarah Scott\u2019s Spring Band\/Orchestra Concert.\u00a0 The concert begins at 5:30.<\/p>\n

Wednesday evening, we will be honoring Mrs. Vicki Rich at the Excellence in Education Awards Banquet, at St. Mary of the Woods College.\u00a0 Mrs. Rich is an example of excellence because of her knowledge and dedication to our Scotties!\u00a0 Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!<\/p>\n

Also, on Wednesday, our track team will be competing in the county track meet.\u00a0 The meet will take at Terre Haute South Vigo High School.\u00a0 Let\u2019s wish our\u00a0athletes well as they go for the victory!\u00a0 The track meet begins at 5:00.<\/p>\n

Friday will be a busy day, as our 6th<\/sup>\u00a0grade teachers take their Scotties on a wonderful trip head to Racoon Lake.\u00a0 Our 8th<\/sup>\u00a0grade Scotties will enjoy a discovery field trip, in which they will visit various sites, such as Indiana State University and the Historical Museum.\u00a0 These trips promise to be a great experience for our Scotties.<\/p>\n

The county tennis match will be held Friday.\u00a0 The location will be announced in the near future.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s time for Super Saturday!\u00a0 This Saturday, from 10-2pm, we have something AMAZING planned for our Skyline Club members.\u00a0 Scotties, you will have the opportunity to see the behind the scenes workings at the Terre Haute International Airport!\u00a0 Learn what it takes to keep those planes in the air, by talking to airplane mechanics.\u00a0 Hear what goes into making sure the planes take off and land safely, by talking with air traffic controllers.\u00a0 Plus, we\u2019ll get to have lunch at the airport, while we watch the planes take off and land.\u00a0 Pick up your permissions slips during lunch, or pick one up in the main office.\u00a0 Remember space is limited so, return your permission slip ASAP!<\/p>\n

Auditions for the Sarah Scott Dance Teams will take place on Saturday, May 13th<\/sup>\u00a0and Monday, May 15th<\/sup>.\u00a0 All interested Scotties must have a completed physical form on file.\u00a0 If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Lugar.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t forget to sign up for Sarah Scott\u2019s Camp Curiosity.\u00a0 It’s a whole lot more fun that lying around in bed, doing nothing!\u00a0 It is the place for be for summer fun! \u00a0\u2018Cause that\u2019s how we do it!\u00a0 We will have field trips, every week, activities and so much more.\u00a0 For our current 6th<\/sup>, 7th<\/sup>, and 8th<\/sup>\u00a0grade Scotties, Camp Curiosity begins May 30th<\/sup>\u00a0and runs thru June 16th<\/sup>.\u00a0 It\u2019s free and breakfast, lunch and transportation are provided.\u00a0 Space is limited, so you need to sign-up today! Registration forms are located on the Sarah Scott website.<\/p>\n

Mark your calendars for Monday, May 15th<\/sup>\u00a0for the \u201cSarah Scott\u2019s Got Talent Show.\u00a0 Our Scotties will be showcasing their talent beginning at 3:30. We\u2019d love to have you come out and support our Scotties.<\/p>\n
