Math 7 and Math 7-Advanced

I am originally from Brazil, Indiana and I graduated from Northview High School in 1999. (You can do the math. Yes, I’m starting to get old!) After graduating from Indiana State University with a degree in Mathematics Education in 2003, I accepted a position teaching math to grades 7-12 at Rockville Jr/Sr HS. During my 13 years there, I taught Math 7, Math 7 Advanced, Math 8, Math 8 advanced, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and math remediation courses. I also spent 3 years coaching the academic math superbowl teams, and 9 years coaching/choreographing for the competitive high school dance team (2 state titles!!). I also went on to earn my master’s degree in middle school math education through Walden University in 2008.

In 2016, I began teaching here at Sarah Scott in order to work closer to home. I live here in Terre Haute with my husband, a 5th grade teacher at Terre Town, and our two children, Hayden and Chloe. I love math, and I love teaching. I also love reading; I’m a huge Harry Potter fan (Ravenclaw!). I’m obsessed with Disney, and I enjoy all things dance. (I now happily play the role of Chloe’s dance mom.) I enjoy watching movies and TV, and I will admit it, I’m a cat lady!

In 2021, I was a recipient of WTHI’s Golden Apple award. I am both honored and humbled by that recognition.
