Mrs. Mangin’s Minutes of the Week

May 30, 2025

*The scores from our ILEARN testing will be sent home today (Friday).  You might need to ask your child for the envelope.

*On Monday, June 2, the students will begin the day by making a visit to their previous teachers, if they so choose.  We will be writing some poetry and working on locating states on a map. We will also talk about what was learned and what they will take away from our time together. In addition, the students will receive their report cards. At the end of the day, the 5th grade students make their last lap around the building prior to being dismissed at 1:45 pm.

*Thank you for sharing your school year with me! I had a wonderful time getting to know you and I wish you all the best as you go into 6th grade.  It has been a joy being your teacher!

*ATTENTION:  5th graders who are interested in participating in sports at Honey Creek for the 2025-26 school year, you can find all of the information on the HCMS website. Under ATHLETICS you will find:

Hello! Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Beth Mangin and I teach 5th grade at Riley Elementary.  I have been in various classrooms in the Vigo County School system for the last 20 years. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana State University and my teaching licensure through St. Mary-of-the-Woods. I feel fortunate to be able to work with such wonderful students and staff at Riley Elementary.

I have lived in Terre Haute for about 35 years. I am married and have two kids who make me proud to be their mom.  My son graduated from ISU and is employed in Illinois.  He is married and lives on the north side of Terre Haute.  My daughter graduated from Indiana University.  She works and lives in Bloomington.  I also have one very special grandson! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and being outside.

I look forward to seeing and working with my students each day!
