*The theme of the 5th grade basket this year is “GAMES“. Please help us fill our basket with anything related to “GAMES“! It could be a piece of sporting equipment, a card game, or a board game. We are asking for the donations for our basket to be turned in by October 14. This will be for the Fall Festival on Friday, October 17.
*Parent Teacher Conferences are going to be held the week of October 20 – October 24. You should have received an email from SignUp Genius with the available time slots for you to schedule a conference. If you did not receive that email, click on this link:

Math: We will be reviewing how to add and subtract decimals.
Social Studies: We will learn about the Columbian Exchange and how Spanish explorers continued to claim more land for Spain.
Language Arts: Predicting, Comparing & Contrasting, Sequence
Story: “Ookpic: The Travels of a Snowy Owl” and “Critter Crossing!”
Genre: Realistic Fiction and Informational Text
Grammar: Conjunctions (quiz will be given on Thursday)
Vocabulary: The vocabulary test will be on Friday. We will review the definitions each day. The students need to know the definitions of the following words: seldom, blustery, veered, vegetation, and specialized.
