My name is Rachel Patterson and this is my fourth year teaching 4th grade at Riley Elementary School! Go, Racers! I love hands-on learning, visual representation, using music, and traditional methods to appeal to all learners while performing our daily activities and lessons. I also feel it is important for students to have the opportunity to explore and create to better understand what they are learning.  My number one goal is to help every student reach his/her full potential while maintaining an inclusive and positive learning environment.

I am married to Brian and we live in Terre Haute with our four sons. Our sons’ names are: Bryce, Blake, Brady, and Bennett. We have one dog, Everest, she is a very active Siberian husky. We also added two axolotls to our family last school year. They will visit our classroom and we will learn all about these remarkable and almost extinct creatures. 

Outside of school, I enjoy watching my boys play sports, and I love to cheer them on.  I also love party planning, painting, shopping on Amazon for fun school decorations, and doing anything that involves being creative! 

I am looking forward to meeting all of my 2024-2025 students and having another fantastic year in fourth grade at Riley!  See you soon!

We are definitely racing into May! It is going to be a busy month with something exciting around every corner! Please keep an eye on calendars and added dates. We have a lot going on in our classroom and in our school! I have included below some fun days which we celebrate in our classroom.
