My name is Rachel Patterson and this is my third year teaching 4th grade at Riley Elementary School!  Go, Racers!! I love doing hands-on learning and I try to include fun activities in our daily lessons.  I feel it is important for students to have the opportunity to explore and create to better understand the learning material.  My number one goal is to help every student reach his/her full potential while maintaining an inclusive and positive learning environment.

I am married to Brian and we live in Terre Haute with our four sons.  Our sons’ names are: Bryce, Blake, Brady, and Bennett.  Bryce is a Senior at Indiana State University.  He is a college sprinter and he is majoring in Computer Engineering.  Blake is a Sophomore at Saint Mary of the Woods College, and a sprinter on their track team.  He is majoring in Computer Science. Brady is a Sophomore at Clay City High School high and runs track.  Our youngest son is Bennett.  He is in sixth grade and attends Clay City Elementary School.  Bennett likes to play basketball and run like his brothers.

As you can guess, I enjoy watching my boys play sports and cheering them on.  I also love party planning, painting, shopping on Amazon for fun school decorations, and doing anything that involves being creative!

I am looking forward to another fantastic year in fourth grade at Riley!
