Welcome to my website!

I am Mrs. Titus, and this will be my tenth year teaching! I graduated from ISU with a degree in Elementary Education and minors in Reading and German. I also earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from ISU. I have taught both fourth and fifth grades, and I’ve discovered that I just love this age of development, maturity, and learning in children!

Social studies is my favorite subject, and my favorite part of the school day is when I get to read a chapter of our classroom book to the students.Tennis, pickleball, being with family, and drinking coffee are my favorite things to do! I have a 4 year old daughter and 1 year old son who keep me busy, but I also spend a lot of time preparing memorable lessons for my students!

My philosophy is that life is always more enjoyable when you have a positive mindset, and I encourage a positive attitude and outlook for my students every day. There is so much to learn and discover in fourth grade, and I am so excited to learn and discover with my Riley Racers!

Tuesday, April 9 will be my last day before I go on maternity leave. I am so sad to leave this wonderful group of students. I want to thank you all for making this truly one of the BEST school years I’ve had in a decade of teaching! I cannot say enough good things about these kids. I know they will have great success in 5th grade and beyond!

Ms. Spears, our student teacher, will be returning to be the long term substitute for the remainder of the year. She knows the kids and our routines, so we are very blessed to have her!

Next week, we will begin our final unit of reading and focus on identifying the main idea and key details of narrative nonfiction texts. In math, we’ll continue to solve problems with line plots! In science, we will learn about special adaptations that help animals and plants survive their environments.

Happy April birthdays to Ryder & Grace!!!
