Meet Mrs. Lutes

My name is Shelly Lutes and I am happy to be back for another year of teaching at Hoosier Prairie.  While I was taking classes to obtain my teaching license I worked as a teaching assistant at Hoosier Prairie for six years. I began my teaching career in 2007 at West Vigo Elementary School where I taught special education and third grade.  I was also a reading teacher at Gibault School for two years.  In 2011 I found my way back to Hoosier Prairie and I have taught kindergarten and first grade here.

I am married and have a son who is in college and the Air National Guard.  In my free time I enjoy walking my dog Sadie, spending time with my family, and reading.   I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with my students, their families, and the staff at Hoosier Prairie.
