*School Improvement Plan \u2013 <\/strong>When developing our School Improvement Plan the goal areas identified were reading comprehension and problem-solving skills.\u00a0 We are concentrating on both goals at all levels. Making a special time at home for reading is essential for all students!\u00a0 Try having a time where everybody reads and then shares what they read with one another.\u00a0\u00a0 Also, try giving your child a weekly math story problem for them to solve.\u00a0 Being a good problem solver is a necessity!<\/p>\n

*Good Attendance<\/strong> \u2013 Please make sure your child is at school each and every day unless they are ill.\u00a0 Make every effort to schedule doctor and dentist appointments after school. Please make every attempt to get your child to eat nutritious meals and get plenty of rest.\u00a0 Have your child complete missed assignments.\u00a0 School attendance is important!\u00a0 Thank you!<\/p>\n

*Immunizations and Physicals<\/strong> \u2013 Fifth graders need to prepare for entrance to 6th<\/sup> grade with both immunizations and physicals in order to participate in sports.\u00a0 Middle school immunizations are Tdap and MCV.<\/p>\n

*Emergency Cards\/Skyward <\/strong>\u2013 Please let the school know as soon as possible if you have a change in address, phone number or emergency contact.\u00a0 This information is very important to us in case we need to get a hold of you during the school day.\u00a0 Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter.<\/p>\n

*Wellness Policy \u2013 <\/strong>In keeping with the guidelines of the Wellness Policy, parents and guardians are encouraged to support VCSC nutrition education efforts.\u00a0 All classroom celebrations involving food should encourage the use of healthy treats.<\/p>\n
